Crash!

Stone the naffing nerds! Where are my 'Sina - Drums' photos!
This can't happen to me. In a moment of disk space madness,
I appear to have deleted them. I assumed they were backed up
to another device. I am normally very efficient and organised with
backing up, I even use my own super fast, backup program that
I wrote using Microsoft Visual Basic. Why did this happen...

The answer is storm Eunice. It killed 4 people in England and
crashed my 20 year old, tower computer, before it moved off.
This was a mission critical computer. I created Ramrod with it.
Geoff and Spud can't get to the edge of the universe, without it.
It is not allowed to die. When the storm struck, every light in the
flat, flickered then it died. I activated an emergency computer
system upheaval procedure, to try to move the old Windows
stuff to my high spec laptop and move that stuff, to a newer,
though lower spec notebook. The result was, I somehow killed
my high spec laptop. I now had two dead computers! My mobile
was my only way to get the codes to activate my accounts to get
the notebook O/S set up but guess what; the signal died. The
storm then uprooted a tree and threw it onto the power lines.
The mains power went out, for 5 hours! My torch batteries
began to fade and I sneaked a glimpse of the abyss.

I dusted off a 30 year old computer repair book, I had on my
shelf and by candle light, I proceeded to the diagnostics flow
chart at the back. It said, disconnect the power cable from the
motherboard then power up to see if the fan works. When the
mains power came back on, I did this and was able to figure
out how to bring it back to life. It now lives, Geoff lives, Spud
got a new bone, I ate another broken biscuit and all was well.
Almost...
The 'Sina - Drums' photos are gone, my high spec laptop is
still dead and watching videos on a low spec notebook is
excruciating. You may remember that earlier, I said, ( 'Voggy'
and 'Here I Go Again'... more on them later ). Well if you are
intrigued to know why then go to the next part.
